Christmas Day We had a family Christmas Day meal at this lovely pub. The food was excellent, the setting perfect, the service amazing. We had a lovely relaxed time in a great atmosphere.

We ate at the Chequers twice with friends and family in the run up to Christmas and on both occasions Marianna and her team provided great food and great service with a cosy Christmas atmosphere . The pub is a great local asset which over the years has had its ups and downs so it’s good to see it on the up.

Brilliant place situated right next to the river. Food is delicious with good variety to pick from the menu. Very friendly staff who really go out of their way to cater for the customers. Child and pet friendly. Very well laid out restaurant. Seating is spaced out enough to have your personal space. Lot of natural light with great ambience. Nice place to enjoy a family New Years meal after a long walk along the river.

We went there for a team Christmas meal. The staff were brilliant and very friendly and couldn’t do enough. Our table waitress was so friendly and had a laugh with us as well, and even thanked us for being a really nice organisation! We were all expecting ‘a typical pub Christmas type meal’, but were so surprised. The food was amazing and certainly loads of it! Excellent and would certainly be more than happy to return.
